On this day August 14, 2010……..

On this day, August 14, 2010, Jerry and I catered a very special luncheon.  All thanks to GOD, we had lots of help from our dear friends from church.  This luncheon was hosted at Fire Station 53 in North Las Vegas, Nevada. At this luncheon we fed 75-80 very hungry fire fighters,  the Fire Chief, administrative staff, and other supporting staff members.

This luncheon was for all of the Fire Fighters and, supporting staff that were participating in a cross country marathon. There were 18 fire fighters from various fire houses here in the US and 18 fire fighters from Australia running in this marathon.  They started running sometime the first part of August from Santa Monica, California.  The runners stopped in Las Vegas for something good to eat and fellowship with other fire fighters.  They continued on with this marathon the following day with stops along the way.  The runners goal;  was to run from California to New York City and arrive at ground zero in New York City on September 11, 2010.

We will never forget all of the brave Fire Fighters, First Responders and all of the innocent people that lost their lives on that horrible day – September 11, 2001. May they ALL Rest in God’s Peace.
